Have You Seen the Worst “Call For Entries” Poster Ever?
At TexasDesign.com we try to be positive about our profession. We know that there are designers out there with different talents and abilities. But, today, we came across something that is absolutely the worst “Call for Entires” poster ever.
We love getting mailing from the different organizations that host design contests. We love looking at what our industry thinks of it self. Whether it is the DSVC, AIGA or the ADCH. Our expectations are always set high.
They all came down yesterday when the Art Director’s Club “Call for Entires” poster came to us in the mail. Eagerly pulled off the tape, read the outside flap, unfolded the poster and found (the poster is so bad we do not want this on our front page) …
2007 Tarrant County College Design Professionals Exhibition

The Art Corridor II of Tarrant County College Southeast is requesting submissions for the 2007 Design Professionals Exhibition to take place February 19 – March 30. The Art Corridor II is a highly visible area of campus. Numerous community members, students, faculty, staff, and guests view exhibitions at this location. Shows are promoted well within the District, the area arts community, and state and local press.
The goal of the exhibition is to introduce different facets of the design field to our art students and facilitate discussion across campus on media and graphic design concepts in the age of instantaneous global communication.
Works to be considered will showcase the design process from a problem’s inception to completion, meeting functional and aesthetic concerns. The exhibition is open to design professionals in the fields of book design, posters, photo illustrations, brand and identity design, packaging, marketing, advertising, environmental design, public service or non profit promotions, and all types of collateral, such as annual reports and brochures. Two-dimensional illustrations of 3-D modeling in game design, virtual reality, and motion graphics are also eligible. Three-dimensional entries may be accepted if they don’t exceed 16” x 16” x 20”. A three-member panel will curate works for exhibition.
